About

I turn ambiguous business problems into production-ready products, and I own them end to end: architecture, prototype, code, infrastructure and deployment.

I’ve been building on the web for 20+ years, and automation has always been at the core of how I work. Long before “AI agents” had a name, I was building pipelines that ran high-traffic websites with minimal manual effort.

I’m a hands-on engineer, not a manager who stopped coding. I set the architecture and guide distributed teams across time zones, and I still write the critical components myself.

Highlights

1M+

AI training sessions completed on two AI sales-training platforms I built: conversational avatars, real-time conversations, objection handling, automatic scoring and certification.

Built from zero

A live-streaming business line, co-built with my manager, that grew into a core product for major enterprises, with events of tens of thousands of concurrent users.

Agent-first

Helped lead the company’s shift to an AI-agent-first organization, and built MCP servers that let AI agents work inside our SaaS platforms.

Experience

  1. Mar 2025 – PresentRemote

Principal AI Engineer, AI & Innovation at RolPlay

    Mar 2025 – PresentRemote

Lead technical owner of RolPlay’s innovation area, turning client needs into working, sellable product features.

    • Own new solutions end to end from a business problem, not a spec: architecture, data model, AI behavior, integration and delivery.
    • Designed adaptive, non-linear training exercises that learn from previous attempts and track learner progress over time.
    • Design LLM behavior in production: prompts, context, RAG, agents, conversational flows and automated grading.
    • Built MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers that expose our SaaS platforms to AI agents, and AI agents that use them to create training simulators and use cases automatically, cutting manual setup work.
    • Helped lead the company’s shift to an AI-agent-first organization: rolled out AI assistants company-wide and built automations that are now part of every team’s daily workflow.
    • Technical lead for distributed development teams across time zones, while personally building critical components.
  2. Mar 2023 – Mar 2025Remote

Lead AI Product Engineer at RolPlay

    Mar 2023 – Mar 2025Remote

Joined to help grow an early-stage AI training product and built much of the platform it sells today.

    • Built AI sales-training simulators: conversational avatars, customer and scenario simulation, objection handling and real-time conversations.
    • Developed automatic performance evaluation, feedback, certification and progress metrics.
    • Platforms reached 1M+ completed training sessions across large enterprises in retail, banking and pharma.
    • Integrated multiple LLM and voice providers (OpenAI, Gemini, Amazon Polly) into production APIs, choosing the right model for each use case.
  3. Mar 2011 – Mar 2023Monterrey, Mexico

Lead Software Engineer, Streaming Platforms at Comunicaciones Audioweb

    Mar 2011 – Mar 2023Monterrey, Mexico

Hired to build custom client solutions for an audioconferencing company; became the lead developer and co-built the streaming division that grew into a core business line. In 2023 I moved to RolPlay, a sister company under the same ownership, to lead its AI product.

    • Co-created the streaming business with my manager: vendors, hosting, servers and streaming technology, turning one-off projects into a product.
    • Architected and operated live events for major enterprises in consumer goods, retail, banking and pharma, scaling to tens of thousands of concurrent users.
    • Owned the full stack: web platforms, backend, real-time chat, Q&A and polls, load balancers, CDNs, servers and live event monitoring.
    • Built a wide range of virtual event products: streaming sites, virtual auditoriums, on-demand video libraries and virtual trade and job fairs with live, staffed booths where attendees talked to company reps in real time.
  4. 1998 – 2009

    IT Manager at Iatsa Ingeniería

    1998 – 2009

Ran all IT for an engineering firm: networks, structured cabling, phone systems, and hardware maintenance and support.
